The Last Wild Buffalo

The Last Wild Buffalo

The Last Wild Buffalo is a soulful Americana band from Utah, blending the raw honesty of folk with the grit and energy of rock. Born in backyards, forged through relentless touring, and shaped by the landscapes and communities that raised them, the band has built a reputation for heartfelt songwriting and high-impact live performances that turn every crowd into a community. The band is composed of childhood friends Jonathan Celaya (banjo, vocals), Isaac Woodruff (acoustic guitar, vocals), Ella Celaya (fiddle, vocals), Troy Lybbert (upright bass, backing vocals). Since forming in June 2024, they have steadily built a grassroots following through self-funded touring, the release of their self-titled debut album and surprise EP Sincerely, and a second full-length album, Still Here, Somehow which was released in April 2026.

Still Here, Somehow is a 14-track album that builds on the band’s folk/Americana foundation with the grit, scale, and emotional energy of their live shows. Shaped by the interplay of three vocalists, the record displays the contrast between quiet harmonies and sweeping builds, creating a record that feels both intimate and anthemic. Written across Utah and on the road while promoting the band’s first album, it reflects on themes of home, change, and the spaces between where we’ve been and where we’re headed. The result is a road-worn, heartfelt record built for both crowded rooms and long drives through the woods. The album was entirely self-funded and produced internally by Jonathan Celaya, reflecting the band’s hands-on, independent approach to making records. The album was mastered by David Glasser of Airshow Mastering.
